Soulchoonz Records is very proud to present the Nu Vintage Soul Connection, its first compilation project featuring the very best Nu-Soul and RnB grooves. Working with Nu Vintage Music, Soulchoonz selected the best of the best emerging artists and put together 12 excellent tracks. The compilation's overall quality is superb and has a fantastic diverse range of nu-soul/RnB music. Whether you are into the groove of tracks from Kimia Collins, Lorraine Reid or Michelle Tavares or into the more mellow tunes from Alana Bridgewater and Kayte Burgess, or after the latest remixes of hits from Wade O'Brown and Ian Martin, this Soulchoonz compilation project has it all!

NuVintage Music is a production company that works independently of record labels yet acts as a “mini label” in order to establish each artist. NV, produces each record from the ground up to “radio ready” status. “We approach every NV production as an A&R department would. If we don’t believe in the artist and their direction, we don’t take on the project. We discover, develop, produce and record artists, continue to maintain the artist’s original creative direction and produce each project with the NV sound. Kimia Collins was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland, has been singing and performing since the age of 3. An active performer Kimia has sang in "Dream girls", "My Story, My Song" and sang and recorded with artists such as Karen Clark and multi-platinum artist Lil Mo. Inspired by such artists as Faith and Mary J. Blige Kimia is recording her first R&B/Soul album scheduled for release late 2007.

Lisa Bell was born in Winnipeg Manitoba, and as a daughter of a reggae band leader, began performing with her father in various venues in western Canada at a young age. Lisa is inspired by such artists as Etta James, Floetry and Gregory Issac. Her sound is a combination of R&B and Soul with a reggae undertone.” Tell Me Why" is Lisa's first release and she is currently working on completing her album.

Kayte Burgess born in Toronto, Canada, developed her voice by singing classical music, she studied vocal Jazz, piano and guitar whilst performing R&B and Soul in various venues throughout Canada and the US. With her first release "My Own Design" (2004) Kayte established her songwriting & vocal style while exposing her ability to fuse R&B Soul and Hip-Hop. Kayte is influenced by artists such as Lisa Stansfield, Erykah Badu and Amel Larriuex.

Lorraine Reid got her start in music in Toronto's prestigious "Stage Kids" and has never looked back. Later Lorraine became the star vocalist of the award winning Canadian duo "Temperance" and toured throughout North America and the U.K. garnering many accolades and fans. Lorraine's currently working on her debut solo release in the style of Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige and Whitney Houston.

Wade O’Brown as a young child in Detroit, Michigan, sang in church and taught himself to play piano. Then at 19, Wade moved to Toronto and released his debut album "Complete" (2002) which introduced his unique seductive sound akin to Luther Vandross and Peabo Bryson. Wade's sophomore release "All Night All Love" (2006) with hard hitting R&B ballads established him as one of the premier vocalists in North America.

Michelle Tavares was born and raised in Toronto's Portuguese community and began singing and performing at an early age. A gifted dancer and vocalist Michelle is influenced by artists such as Teena Marie and Gloria Estefan. Michelle has had 2 previous independent album releases, a traditional Latin record "Para Sen Pre Nos Meus Sonhos" (2000) and her latest English record "Just Michelle" (2006). Her music is a hybrid fusion of R&B with traditional Latin overtones.

Alana Bridgewater is a powerhouse vocalist and actor who began her career as a member of the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus and the Toronto Mendelssohn Youth Choir. Later she began singing jazz with Joe Sealy and acting. Alana's voice is truly spectacular and has had some previous single releases. She is finishing her long anticipated debut album and featuring songs in the style of old school Stax, with vocals similar to Chaka Khan and Aretha Franklin.

Kate Bowen was born in a rural environment just outside Toronto and excelled in music and languages. As an insightful songwriter Kate follows in the tradition of great writers including Carole King and Stevie Wonder, but has a vocal style reminiscent of Sade and Toni Braxton. After a year in Atlanta writing and recording, Kate released her first independent EP entitled "Bare"(2006) which featured well crafted songs with minimal organic production.

Ian Martin born in Toronto is truly a gifted composer/ musician and artist. Throughout his career and discography Ian brings a multi-faceted array of musical abilities. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Film Scoring and Performance Ian has performed with the top artists around the world on route to his own achievements. From En Vogue to Maxwell, Ronny Jordan, Kelly Clarkson to Barry Manilow. As an artist his work has been displayed in world-class company.
